I was provided a promissory note from a contract agency that acquired the company i was working for and i never agreed to the terms within the promissory note and they have note provided the reasoning into why i was released and being made to pay what they call a "training fee" As no training from the company was provided. I am residing in the state of Texas and The promissory note states it falls under Florida law does this note still have any validity to it as nether parties have signed it?
JA: Have you talked to a lawyer about this?
Customer: I have not i am seeking advice for this as they are attempting to charge me 10 thousand dollar in the time frame of two months with a 5% interest fee if its not paid within those two months(july 24/august 24) and i was just released from the contract by the company on the 24th of this month.
JA: What steps have you taken so far?
Customer: I have requested formal documentation to support the cause of the release for this and any forms i had signed agreeing to the terms.
JA: Is there anything else the Lawyer should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.
Customer: I have the original documents i signed when on-boarding and none of which have the terms of repayment but they do show the payment of 10000 for training but as i said i never received any training.

If you did not sign the note you are not liable for payment of the note.

the promissory note not being signed means im not liable for the payment but how does it work if the original document said i needed to pay but it didnt list the terms. The reason for release has not been provided as of this time there is nothing that clarifies why i would have to be liable for the "training fees" as they listed them. I was provided a macbook pro which was returned and i have pictures and tracking information providing the return of the equipment

If you feel you were fired for an improper reason you can seek legal recourse.

i feel it was due to the "training fee" as it also has an extra 5% in interest if not paid within the 2 month period.

I signed for the fee however the terms and interest rates were not within the documentation at the time of signing. The company who acquired the company i was with sent me that promissory note today which was not signed or agreed by both parties. As i have not signed anything yet and that was mentioned during the call i had with them that it was sent for me to sign.

If the documents you did sign did not indicate an interest rate or term, you only owe the principal amount.

Of course, if they did not provide the training, you owe nothing.
