Hello. My name is***** can help you with this. I am able to appreciate pneumothorax as well as a patchy infiltrates in the lungs. The amount of air does not appear to be appreciably different from one x-ray to the other. Were there any other images taken of the lungs from different views?

My dogs lung metastasis have been getting worse. They coincide with my dogs I’m also getting worse. I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence or if it is somehow related to the lungs.

Thank you. I can see that. The conjunctiva is swollen and there is some mucus discharge. This usually coincides with conjunctivitis. There are lymph nodes in the area, so there could possibly be metastasis there too, but treatment for allergic conjunctivitis might help. A steroid ophthalmic ointment or drop could be helpful.

There are antihistamine drops, which can help if this is contributed by allergies, but it does not have a strong anti inflammatory treatment to it. Zaditor is the name of an over-the-counter product available for human use, so you should be able to find one at a human pharmacy.

This is irritating, but it is not painful.

Thanks you. Final question about the x-rays. Would tapping the pneumothorax, assuming it does not refill, offer her relief? She can’t seem to get comfortable because of her chest.

Yes, removing the air could be helpful, but there is concern about bleeding or exacerbating her cancer if the tumors are traumatized during the process. It carries some risk to do the procedure.

How would they be traumatized? Like if they were poked?

Yes, that is what I mean. They will use a needle to remove the air and there are numerous tumors in the lung field, so it is possible one could be hit.

Yes. An individual with ultrasound capabilities should be able to navigate it, but there is still the inadvertent risk.
