Hello and welcome. My name is ***** ***** I’m a biologist. I’m sorry to hear about Dixie’s deafness. Hearing aids for dogs have proven to be difficult because dogs simply don’t tolerate them. However, there is a vet who has been doing what you propose. Dr. A.E. Marshall at Auburn University developed an interest in congenital deafness in Dalmatians. That interest expanded into providing hearing aids for dogs.He developed a way to modify human hearing aids. From my research, it appears that be no longer makes the bearing aids himself, but he will help vets who want to do so. You can read more about him here:
On this Auburn University page, there is more information, and at the bottom you’ll find Dr. Marshall’s phone number.
You’ll need to find a local vet who is willing to work with Dr. Marshall. It may be necessary to go to your state’s veterinary teaching hospital for that. I hope this information helps.,
