Second opinion] Hi Dr. I want to ask about Rabies.
There is no category about rats so I chose dog.First, I live in South Korea.
I worked at the restaurant. While open it, I found there was a rat in the hall. So I catched it by my hands(with nitril glove) and threw away. However there was very tiny scratch on my arm but it was not bleeding. I washed it with tap water with soap.
I wonder if Rat can transmit Rabies. Can Rat transmit rabies? Do I need to get any vaccine?

I guess it was not from bite but scratch from feet.

Thank you. There is no risk of rabies transmission from scratches from feet. The risk of rabies from a rat is rare, although it would be possible only from a bite wound. There is no risk from a scratch from the feet. Therefore, there is no risk of health to you. You will still want to clean your skin throughly to prevent a bacterial infection, but there is no risk of rabies transmission in this way.
