Customer: I want to sell a dog but can't find a "Pet" category.
JA: How long has this been going on with your computer? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I don't need tech support. I need to know where to find a category to sell a dog.
JA: Is there anything else the Computer Expert should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.

When I try to post my dog for sale, there is no "Pet" category in the list of Craigslist's categories.

Thanks for the information.   Craigslist does not allow selling pets there, only free to a good home.

There are other places to try to rehome or sell pets, but not Craiglist.

everyday I check craigslist under "pets - Inland empire". There are hundreds of posts for pets.

These are violations of Craigslist.  If you "google" sell pets on Craiglist it tells you it is not permitted, and why it is not permitted.

Some people "cheat" about this because there are pets sold on the site, but the site is trying to prevent and limit it.  There are better and legal places to sell pets.

The prohibited page says a mall rehoming fee is permitted.

Rehoming means you are not selling the pet.   Rehoming a pet means finding a new home but not actually selling.

How old is he and what breed?   It is harder to sell older dogs, and certain breeds.

Understood. Where do you post dogs (puppies) for rehoming?

If he is a particular breed, then breed rescue for his breed may be able to help.

I just want to know how other people post their pets on Craigslist - because I can't find a "Pet" category in Craigslist's list of categories, but I can find Craiglist's "Pets" when I google it.

I am not a Craigslist expert.  I know if you are trying to sell a pet there it is a violation of the site so I can't recommend this.   There are safer and more legal ways to find him a new home.

I don't know how other people cheat and get pets sold on Craigslist.  I can't recommend doing anything that is illegal.

This is what I found online:   "Although Craigslist prohibits the sale of animals on its site, it still allows animals to be given away for free or via a small “re-homing” fee. ... These cases are proof that no matter how desperate you are, you should never resort to giving away an animal to someone you don't know and trust."

Giving him away on Craiglist may mean he goes to an abusive home, or used as bait for fighting dogs.

These "predators"  look on Craiglist for dogs to abuse.

I just called someone who is posting a pet cage under Craigslist "Pet - Inland Empire". She told me how she posted her dog cage; that's what I needed to know. Thanks anyway.

A pet cage is not the same thing; it can't be abused.   I hope you find a safe home for him.
