I applied for a conceal and carry but got declined due to me saying yes for voluntarily going into a mental health institution is there any way to combat this?
JA: What state are you in? It matters because laws vary by location.
Customer: Arkansas
JA: What steps have you taken so far?
Customer: Nothing so far. I got the decline letter today. I called the Arkansas State Police and the representative told me I could talk to a prosecutor but I don’t know if that’ll help
JA: Is there anything else the Lawyer should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.
Customer: I did send them the discharge letter and that’s about it.

You would be able to request a hearing through the State Police concerning the mental health stay. That is the only way to challenge.

Do you know how the hearing process would go? Or if it would be worth it to do?

It is successful in many instances with an updated statement of mental health.

Ok, I see. For the updated statement, would I just need to go to a mental health clinic and do an evaluation??

Ok. The letter stated that I had 30 days to respond so I'll see about getting an evaluation done. Also, sorry for the questions. Do you know how much the hearing would cost me? Or if I could do a payment plan?

You could not do a payment plan, but you can file for a financial hardship.
