can a sexual offender stop registering after...

Resolved • Response time 3 minutes

can a sexual offender stop registering after a certain amount of time?
JA: What state is this in? It matters because laws vary by location.
Customer: COlorado
JA: What steps have been taken so far?
Customer: My son will finish his probation in a few month. He contacted one lawyer that said he will never be able to not register as he has two "sexual" offenses in his record. The Parole Officer counseled him to do the necessary steps to be able to NOT register any longer.
JA: Is there anything else the Lawyer should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.
Customer: he was convicted of two offenses in two different counties, can he still petion to get off the registry or is this a lifetime deal

Discharge from parole, and with two crimes, being removed would be highly unlikely. If he's considered violent, that also would be a barrier to removal.

Any violations or failure to register during the process will provide another barrier to removal.
