Nothing . Thats the problem. I was just trying to drain and spin. I press start, it goes to sensing on the lights but does nothing .
JA: What's the brand and model of your appliance? How old is it?
Customer: @a few years old. Maytag, model mvwc565fwd
JA: What have you tried so far with your Maytag appliance?
Customer: 1st i had a problem with aggitating. That was yesterday. I replaced the shift acuator underneath the machine. ( part # kt-155867) . The machine worked fine. Today i went to do a load of towels. I set the machine and went to work. I came home to wet towels in the machine. I figured it was just off balance. I reset all the towels into the machine and set the machine to drain and spin. It does nothing
JA: Is there anything else the Appliance Expert should know before I connect you? Rest assured that they'll be able to help you.

Sorry to hear your washer is not spinning - that is frustrating indeed.

So the washer is not draining or spinning?

And I see you just replaced the actuator?

So if you replaced the actuator - and it worked one load - and now nothing - you might have a faulty clutch or motor or motor capacitor.

Did it agitate in the cycle before it did not spin?

The lights go on as if it were normal. You press start and the sensing light comes on by the progress lights

Okay - so there is either an issue with the motor capacitor or motor - and it's possible that the actuator wire connection came off - I would check that connection first - then I would test the capacitor for the motor - next to motor - if that is good - test motor...

It's also possible that the actuator was not really the main cause - and the control board is acting up - as it can cause the actuator to not work - and a power reset can make it work one time and then stop again...

I would also inspect the clutch/pulley assembly - that is below motor... and is what the actuator shifts when it changes cycles from agitate to spin.

Capacitor is part 12 and motor part 7.

Since you replaced that actuator - then in theory it's good - but check to make sure the wire connection did not come loose as well - then you would want to test motor capacitor and motor - then inspect the clutch/pulley assembly.

If all tests good - you likely have a faulty main PCB control board.

There are also videos on Youtube on testing a motor capacitor and motor if you would like to see how to test those... you just need an Ohm meter and know how to use it and test those parts.

Ok. I have that info. I want to add something to what the machine is currently doing when i tried to drain and spin. The sensing light goes on.
After a long pause the motor spins the basket a half revolution . Then another long pause then another half revolution. Then nothing.
After about 10-15 mins the done light comes on. Does this info help in diagnosing.

Yes - that is either a faulty shift actuator or main PCB board.

The shift actuator has a motor sensor on it that can cause that issue - but since you just replaced it make sure the wire did not come loose a bit - that would cause this - make sure all wiring there is good as well...

If all is good - and it keeps happening then that PCB board is not able to process the motor sensor readings and is not operating the motor correctly to sense load size.
